The Zumsteinspitze and the Signalkuppe are popular destinations from the Monterosahütte via the Grenzgletscher. But the Parrotspitze and the Ludwigshöhe, as well as the Corno Nero, are also worthwhile, somewhat lower summits via this approach. However, the southern 4000-metre peaks of the Monterosa group are usually climbed directly and more easily from the Mantova Hut or Gnifetti Hut via the Lis Glacier.
