Gravel bike routes in the Pyrenees

Similar to Route 1 from the Aralar campsite, this route runs through the beautiful surroundings of Aralar, starting from the campsite. It is a long route but without technical difficulty.

This beautiful Gravel bike route starts at the Aralar campsite and for 51km takes us along beautiful natural paths before returning to the Aralar campsite.

Although it is not an excessively long lap and has a high percentage of asphalt and concrete, the accumulated gradient is significant, so it is advisable to be in good shape.

On this pleasant route we will travel along the Bidasoa Greenway to Hendaye, where we will be able to enjoy the views of the Bay of Txingudi.

After the first few kilometres along the Vía Verde, in Doneztebe we take the route of the Eurovelo 1 and through a very hard but not very long concrete climb, we reach the town of Donamaria with its famous tower named after the town itself or Jauregia.

A route of contrasts between the plains of Sakana and the Plazaola Greenway and the tough climb to San Miguel de Aralar. This ascent of 9.8 km at 7.6% is the one that will allow us to join two good areas for the practice of gravel such as Sakana and Plazaola.

The Plazaola Greenway makes it easy to design gravel routes in the area, as it is always a good way to link different sectors of Larraun. The route starts and finishes at the Aralar campsite.

Bonita ruta pese a contar con un porcentaje elevado de asfalto.
